We are marine propulsion experts
Founded in 1980 by Paul H. Diehl P.E., Diehl Engineering Company has served the maritime industry specializing in marine power transmission design, service and failure analysis. Today his son, Rob Diehl, P.E., leads the company with the support of partner Scott Crawford, P.E. and the team members of the Poulsbo, Washington USA office.
Our engineers have been solving problems for marine customers since 1980, and they are ready to work with you and your project.
Rob has worked in the marine and industrial areas since 1986, primarily in the design and service of rotating machinery and mechanical power systems.

Diehl Engineering Company's founder Paul Diehl, was a 1956 graduate of Webb Institute of Naval Architecture, and was licensed by the State of Washington to practice Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. Paul had over 55 years of marine and mechanical engineering experience, with more than 45 years in successful independent practice. During that time, he was involved as an engineer or consultant in hundreds of mechanical power transmission projects.
Unfortunately, Paul passed away in 2020 and we surely miss him. Paul loved his work and and his family. Diehl Engineering's great reputation and success, is attributed to Paul. Even though he retired in 2012, his knowledge, skills and methods carry on in practice by the entire engineering staff.
Eric joined Diehl Engineering in 1991, partnering with his father Paul. Eric is a graduate of Seattle University and is licensed by the State of Washington to practice Marine Engineering. Eric has over 38 years of marine and mechanical engineering experience, with more than 30 years independent practice. During that time, he has been involved as an engineer or consultant in hundreds of mechanical power transmission projects on all types of military and commercial ships. Eric retired from Diehl Engineering in 2021.
